Sizzling prawns

You will need..........
Large raw prawns
5 cloves garlic, minced
Handful of parsley, chopped
1tsp nutmeg
1tbsp chinese rice wine (shaoxing) or dry sherry
2 red chillies, diced
Freshly ground salt and white pepper

*De-vein the prawns
*Fill a small, deep baking dish with 2inches of olive oil
*Add the garlic, parsley, nutmeg,chillies, salt, pepper & prawns
*Bake in a pre-heated oven at 220c for around 10 minutes or until oil is bubbling and serve

  1. Nice Blog. I've been doing the LC thing for awhile now and its been working well. 30kg lost now and only a little bit to go.

    Anyway. For a Spanish dish, I would perhaps question the use of Nutmeg and the chinese rice wine although dry sherry would be excellent. As a suggestion from a food snob, however I would suggest Sherry Vinegar for authenticity.

    Either way, it looks like a wonderfully delicious dish and I will be trying it very very soon.

    Thank you for your comments.
    I have removed the word 'Spanish' and I should have mentioned that dry sherry is fine to use, I have never tried it myself as living in such a remote area - it's not available here so I only ever use Shaoxing

    Please let me know what you thought if/when you try this dish.
